about

After our 1st release, we went thru numerous bass players (and a keyboard player, Josh).

• Our twin brother $ir-G filled in for a while and recorded a few songs. His one and only appearance with the band live was a pretty cool gig – opening for Jets to Brazil and Pedro the Lion in SF.

• Jim Crazy-a-Kosa (sic) joined next. The dude was seriously cool... a software engineer who later became an attorney... because that is what big-brained dudes do. Over a beer he explained to me what the hell that Carlos Castaneda book I was reading was REALLY all about. Fuck, who knew? There was no Don Juan... Carlos made that shit up!

Oh, he also played football at Michigan but quit b/c it took up too much of his time.

Anyways, he joined us for our only east coast trip to NY and the Musik Fest in Pennsylvania (where we played a set to approximately 7,000 people... sandwiched between christian rock acts no less). We were all nervous that day... but "Crazy" (Jim) seriously froze. I guess he was human after all.

• Our next bassist, Daniel, was, among other things, instrumental in co-writing the opening for 'Words I've Never Heard.' Alas, he was way too cool for our nerdy band and split after only a few months... making him the only member of Cutlass to not record with the band.

Daniel came back and filled in for a new years show we played years later (2004) when our current, and longest tenured bass player, Joe was having his son. Daniel remains a close friend.

about

Cutlass Supreme Oakland, California

These four young bucks have blended their love of vinyl 45s, faded postcards, and big American cars to form Cutlass Supreme, an outfit loud enough to rock, but not afraid to handle gently. Cutlass Supreme provides all the fuel economy, room, comfort, and safety features one demands of a band. But it does so without compromising on performance, spirit, and style. ... more
